HEALTH TIPS: Keep Your Legs Active And Strong

AGING STARTS FROM THE FEET UPWARDS!!! As we put on years and keep getting old on a daily basis, our feet must always remain active and strong.
As we are constantly ageing/get aged, we should not be afraid of our hair turning grey, or skin sagging, or wrinkles on our face.

Among the signs of longevity, long fit life as summarized by the popular US Magazine ‘Prevention’, strong leg muscles are listed on the top, as the most important & essential one.
Please walk daily.

If you don’t move your legs for just two weeks, your real leg strength will decrease by 10 years.
Just walk.

A study from the University of Copenhagen in Denmark found that both old & young, during the two weeks of inactivity, the legs muscle strength can weaken by a third which is equivalent to 20-30 years of ageing !!
So just keep walking.

As our leg muscles weaken, it will take a long time to recover, even if we do rehabilitation & exercises, later.
WALK. Therefore, regular exercise like walking, is very important. The whole body weight/ load remains and rest on the legs. The feet are a kind of pillars, bearing the entire weight of the human body.
Walk everyday.

Interestingly, 50% of a person’s bones & 50% of the muscles, are in the two legs. Do walk, always.

The largest & strongest joints & bones of the human body are also in the legs. 10K steps / day. Strong bones, strong muscles and flexible joints form the Iron Triangle that carries the most important load i.e. the human body.”

70% of human activity and burning of energy in one’s life is done by the two feet.

▪️Do you know this? When a person is young, his/ her thighs have enough strength , to lift a small car of 800 kg! The foot is the center of body locomotion. Both the legs together have 50% of the nerves of the human body, 50% of the blood vessels and 50% of the blood is flowing through them. It is the largest circulatory network that connects the body.
So walk daily.

▪️Only when the feet are healthy then the convention current of blood flows , smoothly, so people who have strong leg muscles will definitely have a strong heart. Cultivate the habit of Walking intentionally.

As a person gets older, the accuracy & speed of transmission of instructions between the brain and the legs decreases, unlike when a person is young. Please walk

In addition, the so-called Bone Fertilizer Calcium will sooner or later be lost with the passage of time, making the elderly more prone to bone fractures. Bone fractures in the elderly can easily trigger a series of complications, especially fatal diseases such as brain thrombosis.

Exercising the legs, is never too late, even after the age of 60 years. Although our feet/legs will gradually age with time, exercising our feet/ legs is a life-long task. Walk 10,000 steps.

Only by regular strengthening the legs, one can prevent or reduce further aging. Walk 365 days. Please walk for at least 30-40 minutes daily to ensure that your legs receive sufficient exercise and to ensure that your leg muscles remain healthy.

TIPS: HOW TO OVERCOME GOING LATE TO CHURCH

Just like meeting up with other appointments in life, going to church is one sacred appointment that believers are earnestly encouraged to keep, as the Bible urged us “Not to forsake the gathering of believers”. But it is pertinent to note that, its one thing to ‘GO TO CHURCH’ and another to ‘GOT TO CHURCH EARLY’; the keyword is ‘EARLY’.

Now, why do people go late to church?

  • Iron all your cloth before you sleep.

Trust me, there is a lot of factors enough to fill a tank to overflow; but are these factors worth your lateness to worship service and have a sweet fellowship with fellow brethren?

On a rather too obvious manner, do you find it easy to keep to time on regular appointments (work, school, interviews, seminars etc.), but drag your feet when it involves Church services? Then, here are simple tips to adopt if you want to overcome the habit of going late to church:

  • Polish/clean footwear before you sleep.
  • Get your Bible, jotter, etc. ready in one place.
  • Get your tithe &. Offering ready.
  • Sleep early.
  • Wake up on time.
  • Avoid saying “Even when I get there early,

I won’t meet anyone”

Get there early and let someone come and meet you too.

Don’t forget you are also someone.

  • Washing on Sundays before church is not encouraged, It may delay you.
  • If it takes you 15 minutes to drive/walk to the church, always make allowance for extra time in case of anything.

For instance, if service is 7am and it takes you 10 minutes to drive/walk to church, it’s always better to leave home 6:40am.

  • Plan to get to church at least 10 mins before service starts.
  • Don’t give room for friends and relatives to visit you few hours to service.

If they come when you are preparing for church, take them along or make them wait until you are back.

They are not more important than God.

  • Sunday School is part of church too!

A lesson missed is a treasure missed. Stop throwing away treasures!!

  1. And for workers, your Sunday service starts at workers meeting time.

Going to church early invokes the blessing of the Lord upon your life.

Don’t be a habitual late comer to church, it’s a dishonour to your God.

Lateness to service is unfaithfulness.

Don’t also form the habit of choosing Sundays that you like for Church service. All Sundays are important to God as long as you are healthy.

Let your worship be a sweet smelling sacrifice to God.
