Plateau State came to a standstill today as the Christian community and state leaders gathered to bid a final farewell to the late Rev. Fr. Polycarp Lubo, Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Plateau State. The burial ceremony, held at St. John Vianney Minor Seminary in Barkin Ladi, was a poignant tribute to the beloved priest’s life and legacy.

The ceremony began with a Requiem Mass, conducted by the Catholic Archbishop of Jos, Most Rev. Mathew Ishaya Audu. The Archbishop reflected on Rev. Fr. Lubo’s unwavering commitment to faith, ecumenism, and peacebuilding in the state, highlighting his impact on the lives of many.

Dignitaries in attendance included the Executive Governor of Plateau State, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang, who praised Rev. Fr. Lubo’s contributions to the state and Christian community. The national leadership of CAN was represented by General Secretary Apostle Prof. Samson Fatokun, Assistant General Secretary Rev. Dr. Uzoaku Williams, and Zonal Chairman CAN North Central Rev. Dr. Samson Jonah, among others.

As friends, family, and fellow clergy paid tribute, attendees reflected on Rev. Fr. Lubo’s dedication to his mission and tireless efforts to uplift those around him. Many shared personal stories of how he positively influenced their lives, demonstrating the profound impact he had on both the religious and civic spheres of Plateau State.

The ceremony concluded with prayers for the family and a united prayer for the eternal peace of Rev. Fr. Polycarp Lubo. His legacy of faith, leadership, and service will continue to inspire those he touched.
