Benue, Edo Elects New CAN Chairmen

In the same vein, Apostle General Dr. Irekpono Omoike of the Organization of African Instituted Churches (OAIC) has emerged as the New State Chairman, Edo State chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), In an election held on Tuesday, 18th April, 2023 in Asaba.

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Benue State Chapter, had elected a new State Executive with Bishop Wilfred Anegbe of the Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria (CSN) Bloc as the new State Chairman.

The election which was held on the 15th April, 2023 in Makurdi, the State Capital, had in attendance all Five (5) Blocs of CAN in the State, with the presence of National Officers of the association as umpires. Bishop Wilfred Anegbe of the CSN emerged as the new Chairman alongside others, forming a new executive council in the State.

The new CAN Chairman, Bishop Wilfred Anegbe flanked by Barr. Daramola Joseph (General Secretary, National CAN), Barr. Mrs. Comfort Chigbue (National Legal Director, CAN), Rev. Gideon Shagba (Immediate Past National Director of of Ecumenism & Interfaith) and other newly elected State executive members.

Apst. Gen. Dr. Irekpono Omoike (The New Edo State CAN Chairman), Rev. Dr. Mrs. Uzoaku Williams (Assistant General Secretary, National CAN), Bishop Israel Ege (South-South Zonal Chairman of CAN), and other National and State officials of the association.
