The assembly\u2019s theme, \u201cDemand for Justice and Righteousness\u201d<\/em> (Amos\u202f5:24), was described as \u201ctimely\u201d and \u201cprophetic,\u201d urging the Church to move beyond ritual and confront societal ills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Archbishop Okoh urged the Council to \u201cspeak courageously, defend the voiceless, and challenge the Church to embody the gospel in practical, credible, and transformative ways.\u201d He stressed that Christian witness is measured by its commitment to justice, compassion and righteousness, not merely by prayers or grand edifices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Noting Nigeria\u2019s severe security challenges, the CAN President called on the government to fulfill its \u201cconstitutional, moral, and sacred responsibility\u201d to protect citizens. He demanded:<\/p>\n\n\n\n – Strengthened security in vulnerable communities “This is not a political demand; it is a humanitarian, moral, and spiritual obligation. We must stand together as one body, with one voice, pursuing one mission\u2014the protection of the sanctity of human life and the dignity of all citizens. We must be united in our approach and in our demand for justice for victims of these heinous acts.”<\/p>\n– Archbishop Daniel C.
